Forest School
Comper Foundation Stage School is participating in the
Oxfordshire Forest School Project and our Forest School site
is here at Barracks Lane where some of our families have allotments.
Our 4 and 5 year-old children come once a fortnight throughout the year
to experience a full and enhanced curriculum in an outdoor environment.
Forest School helps children to develop in all areas of learning and to
build confidence and self-esteem.
After a drink and a biscuit, we participate in activities such as playing
hide and seek, climbing trees, hunting for minibeasts We are developing
the children’s environmental learning by observing seasonal changes and
the impact of the weather.
We plan to put up nesting boxes for birds and bats and also homes for bees
and ladybirds.
